Flat foot or flat feet is more common than we may realize and is usually a painless condition. Feet are important part of the body and of our overall health, as they are like foundation to the entire body. Every aspect of your life gets affected if a problem arises in them.
Feet are incredibly specialized structure. All the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments in the feet are woven in an amazing harmony with each other and the formation of arches is determined by them. Any one weakens; it causes the lax and arch goes flat. ‘Fallen arches’ is another name of flat feet. The entire sole of the foot touches the ground in standing position, due to flattening of the arch inside the foot.
The arches in our feet distribute our body weight across feet and legs. These determine how we walk. In childhood it is quite normal to be flat footed and usually arches develop as children grow older. This abnormality may be inherited or as a result of an injury, obesity, some disease, wear and tear with age and faulty foot wear.
A simple test to do at home is to wet your feet and stand on a flat surface where foot print will show. Check if the imprints are of complete sole, if they are than its most likely that you are flat footed.

Mostly there are no symptoms associated. Feet might not be painful but the ankles, knees, hips or the back may be achy. As the feet are falling in-wards so the optimal alignments of the body goes out of proportion and hence affects these areas. The feet themselves may tire easily and feet may develop bunions, calluses, or heel bone spur and later may create plantar fasciitis (a very painful foot).
At “Walk In Chiropractic” office we diagnose and evaluate the flat feet by examining patient’s feet. Foot scan free in our office will illustrate how the knee, hip and spine are being affected by this condition. In some cases an X-ray, C.T scan or MRI scan might be conducted. Our Chiropractors have in depth knowledge of extremities hence the foot pain that is unfortunately misdiagnosed and mistreated in the medical profession and mostly physical symptoms are dealt with painkillers or arch support.  Our doctors are trained to find the exact cause of the pain and remove it by safe and conservative Chiropractics.
At our Chiropractic office treatment may vary person to person. Our doctor will tailor a course of therapy for you not only to limit the pain relief.
